Luna

Crown Heights, NY

  Breed: Bernedoodle

  Weight: 25 lbs

  Age: 1 year old

  Gender: Female

My partner and I rescued Luna about 4 months ago. She was bred at a puppy mill in PA. Luna and 4 of her littermates were abandoned because they did not turn out like your typical Bernedoodle. Luna is a mini unfurnished Bernedoodle. So she is on the smaller side and has none of the curls that you may expect when you think Bernedoodle. People often confuse her for a Collie or Aussie mix. Luna is very attached to her dad, who is a WFH software engineer. She loves dogs but is apprehensive about people. She needs time to warm up to new humans. I am a court attorney and work at the courthouse 5 days a week. My partner and I are both allergic to pet hair, but able to handle minimal shedding as long as we pop a Claritin as needed.

Barnabus

Crown Heights, NY

  Breed: Dachshund

  Weight: 10 lbs

  Age: 10 years old

  Gender: Male

Hi there, I’m Clara and I adopted Barney (Barnabus, after the apostle but spelled wrong) in 2017. He’s now a senior dachshund, never has produced an allergic reaction in any of my allergy prone friends, and is the cuddliest boy ever. He is so friendly and just wants love and to sniff. I crate him when I leave because he does get anxious and has marked before out of stress when I left him uncrated. He is overcome by a hunter instinct around cats so it’s a no go there, though he wouldn’t actually know what to do beyond doggy scream-howls. He is super chill with other dogs, he’ll just compete for your attention meekly. He does need to be carried downstairs and up more than one flight. He is only ten lbs but needs to be supported front and back when lifted. He has a couple portable ramps he uses to get on and off furniture because jumping off is strictly forbidden for dachshunds. He lovessss walks and sniffing but will also cuddle all day. He can hold it a good while and overall is a very easy, very lovable pup.

Bear is fun loving goober who loves to run, swim, play, and get lots of pets. He is my whole personality!!! (Only slightly kidding). He is a crate trained, potty trained boy who doesn’t get on furniture :) I work at home, so we spend all day every day together. I love to hike, walk, go to the gym, and eat delicious food!

Sylvie

Crown Heights, NY

  Breed: Beagle

  Weight: 20 lbs

Age: Puppy (less than 1 year old)

  Gender: Female

Hi there! I’m fairly new to Brooklyn, and my beagle/spaniel mix Sylvie is even newer! We’re both excited to make new friends in the neighborhood (of both the canine and human variety). We live in Prospect Heights, where we go for lots of walks and visit the dog park frequently. Sylvie loves making friends with every dog and person she meets and will have a great time playing with your pup. I have lots of experience taking care of both big and small dogs, and I work from home, so your dog won’t be left unattended.

Eloise

Crown Heights, NY

  Breed: Shiba Inu

  Weight: 15 lbs

  Age: 1 year old

  Gender: Female

Eloise and I are longtime Brooklyn residents! I'm a young professional who's been around since 2012, Eloise only recently joined the family but is settling right in. She's a super friendly and outgoing Shiba who loves to play and cuddle. She hasn't met a dog she doesn't like and gets along with all humans too, she might be friendlier than me! We go on walks in the morning, evening and at night before bed (though just a potty break). I work from home most days and generally play with the pup between meetings, so plenty of flexibility. I do like to travel on weekends ~once a month, so am hoping to find some like-minded neighbors to trade dogsitting with!
